Got a great week looking ahead and I am running about in small, spiraling circles today, so I’m feeling a bit bemused and need some serious wine that packs a bit of a punch to get me focused. So, here comes the Dashe, made by husband-and-wife wine-making team Michael and Anne Dashe. It is a first-rate Zin that shows the variety’s briary power: It’s got dark flavors of licorice, spice, supple black cherry and blueberry plus ripe tannins and a lingering vanilla-accented finish.
Yet, when you look at the label, you get that they get it – wine doesn’t have to be serious to be serious – sort of like how I’m feeling today.
